There are 9 different Christian churches that are part of Churches Together in Chislehurst and Bickley: St Nicholas, St Mary’s, St Patricks, Christ Church, Ichthus, New Creation, Annunciation, Methodist and St Georges Bickley.
All have the same basic calling – to worship God, to share the good news about Jesus Christ and to work together for the good of others.
The churches often work together; as well as co-ordinate the work that each do separately.
But being Churches Together means more than that. It means commitment by each church and denomination to deepen its fellowship with one another. Working towards a greater visible unity without losing what makes each church interestingly different and unique.
“The people behind the Churches Together group are passionate about our respective Christian communities being part of the daily life of the broader community in Chislehurst and Bickley. We are open to visitors, seekers and believers. We seek to support the businesses, schools and other charities in our communities and have a special project in the 2gether shop on Chislehurst High Street that supports local youth work.”
Duncan MacBean (Rev) Chair of CTC & B and Minister of Chislehurst Methodist Church
