Valerie May Yoga offers a range of yoga classes including beginners and intermediate courses, pregnancy yoga, postnatal and baby yoga, as well as private tuition and corporate yoga in Chislehurst and surrounding areas.
Valerie teaches a vinyasa flow style, which is fluid, dynamic integrating breath and movement. She trained with the world renowned Katy Appleton of appleyoga. Her 240 hour teacher training and 96 hour pregnancy, postnatal and baby yoga training are all accredited with Yoga Alliance UK.
Valerie has been practising yoga for 20 years. She delved much deeper into the practice with the aim of helping a chronic back injury. She found that yoga cured this and started to increase her flexibility, stamina and fitness. At the same time it had the unexpected benefit of dramatically reducing the anxiety and stress levels that she was experiencing as a result of her corporate job. She fell in love with the practice and could not wait to go to class each week!
After starting her family, Valerie decided to turn her passion for the practice into a career in teaching yoga. She feels strongly about the benefits of yoga for everyone and aims to provide a friendly, welcoming environment where you will feel safe and comfortable.
Her teaching style is fun, lighthearted and accessible but at the same time delivering the key messages of a yoga practice. Her classes will allow you to soothe, relax, rejuvenate, energise and calm the mind and body, which will assist you in rebalancing should you have a stressful non-stop lifestyle.
Valerie specialises in pregnancy and post-natal yoga and is devoted to sharing the benefits of yoga with this group of women.
