A Beginner’s Guide to Meditation

March 21 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm

£30

Meditation is often spoken about, but rarely explained in a way that feels accessible. Many people believe they are “bad at meditation” because their mind won’t quiet — yet wandering attention is not a failure of practice, it is the practice.
This two-hour workshop offers a clear, grounded introduction to meditation, designed for those who feel unsure where to begin, as well as those who have tried before and felt stuck or frustrated.
Through simple explanations, guided practice, and shared reflection, participants will explore:
• What meditation is (and what it is not)
• Common misconceptions and obstacles — and why they are normal
• How posture, breath, and attention work together
• Several accessible meditation approaches, including breath awareness and embodied attention
Rather than striving for stillness, this workshop emphasises learning how to sit with what is present, cultivating patience, clarity, and a kinder relationship with the mind.
No prior experience is needed. This is a practical, supportive space to build confidence and begin — or begin again — with meditation.
