The clouds were low in the sky but the roar of the engines cut through them as the long awaited Chislehurst Motor Show roared back into town for its third consecutive year.  This year, on the 80th year since the end of WWII, Chislehurst saw a real mix of historical cars through to supercars – the transformation of automobiles over the years is nothing if not remarkable.

Despite the plummeting temperatures from earlier in the week, nothing was going to stop the residents of Chislehurst and visitors from far and wide descending on Chislehurst High Street and Commons.  With an estimated footfall of 12k people, the Motor Show displayed 180 cars. The pride and joy of so many motoring enthusiasts, many of these cars only come out on special occasions, track days or for a quiet drive on a Sunday afternoon (if there is such a thing anymore).

The highlight of the day is always the awards ceremony with the trophies sponsored by New Mortgage Solutions. This years worthy winners were:

Supercar of the day: McLaren MP4 12C

Track day car of the day: BMW E30 M3 Comp

Best interior: Citroen SM

Yesterday’s Hero: Jaguar E-type Lightweight

Oldest car of the day: Wolseley

“I wish my Dad had one of those”: Jaguar E type

“Pork prize for best Porsche”: 911E Targa

Best car for a Sunday drive: Sabre

As with all local events these would not be possible without sponsorship, and we are exceptionally grateful to the following local businesses who were able to make this event happen:

Ancaster Chislehurst
New Mortgage Solutions
Vogue Dental
Catherine Southon Auctioneers & Valuers
Ginger & Spices
B & N Drainage
Glebe FC
Movo Insurance
MJ Fencing & Groundwork
Melk Coffee Co
Chislehurst Commons

Thank you also to everyone who volunteered including the Kent Police Cadets. We realise it was an exceptionally cold day, and numbers of attendees were high, so your help was very much appreciated.

Thank you also to Chislehurst Commons, using the Commons for the car show is a wonderful display area.  Thank you to Lollipop Events and Righy Guard Security.

And lastly, and most importantly, thank you for all of you who displayed your wonderful ‘motors’ – you did Chislehurst proud!

We did have several items of lost property handed in during the course of the day.  If you did happen to lose something, not someone, please contact hello@lollipopevents.co.uk.

Look out for our next Visit Chislehurst event HERE
